MANIAX League Code of Conduct

Axe throwing is a sport that upholds the values of healthy competition and community. As a participant in MANIAX Leagues, Tournaments, Activities, and Online Forums, it is everyone's responsibility, including your own, to exhibit consideration and respect. This includes respect for one another, respect for safety, respect for the rules, and respect for decisions made by Axe Throwing Officials.

To participate in Axe Throwing activities all participants must agree to the Terms and Conditions of participation, as set out in the participant Waiver.

Participants must be 18 years of age (or 11 years of age with a parent or guardian present). MANIAX Crew Members may ask to see a photo ID.

Discrimination or vilification based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental ability, or religious beliefs will not be tolerated. We must all be actively anti-prejudice: standing by in silence is also unacceptable.

We have a zero-tolerance policy to aggressive, anti-social, abusive, or otherwise unsafe behaviour. Anyone who shows any sign of this type of behaviour will be asked to leave the premises immediately, without refund.

Players are expected to adhere to the rules and etiquette laid out by the International Axe Throwing Federation. These can be found here:
https://internationalaxethrowingfederation.com/iatf-rulebook-glossary/

Examples of other negative behaviour that will not be tolerated include but are not limited to:

  • Disregard for facility rules, or the role of officials.
  • You must obey the instructions of venue staff at all times - this is for your own safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Abusive or inappropriate verbal, written, or physical actions.
  • Harassment or violence.
  • Aggressive or dangerous behaviour which could affect the safety of you or another.
  • Mistreatment of the facility or any contents within such as supplied house axes.

If you have experienced or are aware of any of these behaviours, report the incident to the venue's manager on duty, or the League and Memberships Coordinator, providing as much detail as possible regarding the incident, including:

  • Your name and home venue.
  • Time and location of incident.
  • Names of participants (both active and observers).
  • Threats, actions, and language used.
  •  Response taken.

Aggressive, anti-social or dangerous behaviours are not to be displayed in any sense, whether it be in person, online or any other context. Wearing clothing conveying offensive or anti-social slogans, images or references are not to be worn in MANIAX venues.

Alcohol is not permitted to be consumed during or prior to the League session in MANIAX Adelaide, Melbourne CBD, Abbotsford, Perth, and Sydney. In MANIAX Newstead, Newcastle and Gold Coast, League players are permitted to consume a maximum of 3 alcoholic beverages during their session. MANIAX Crew may refuse service if signs of intoxication are shown, as per our licensing obligations.

Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times when participating in axe throwing events.

Axes must remain sheathed at all times, unless in a throwing area.

Please respect our neighbours as you leave the premises and keep noise to a minimum.

MANIAX reserves the right to enforce the above Code of Conduct with possible elimination or suspension from competition and removal from facilities in cases where the above stated conduct is contravened.

By registering for your league season, you automatically agree to follow and respect the MANIAX Code of Conduct and are liable to the enforcement of penalties, up to but not limited to immediate removal from the remainder of the league season.
