Tried axe throwing for the first time and was a bit scared at first, but the staff were super friendly and showed me how to do it. Ended up being a lot of fun! Plus, the pizza was amazing, and the whole place had a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit!
Zeinab NaimiHad the best time at a work function. It was so much fun and not as hard as I’d expected. Plenty of opportunity to practise before the elimination round. Healthy competition led to banter and laughs. The pizza was great. Highly recommend this for couples, groups and staff events!
Ruth DentonThis place is a must do experience for anyone! Took my son's to celebrate my eldest 15th birthday and had such a brilliant couple of hours. Baron had exceptional skills to teach the boys and myself axe throwing and made it super fun. Shared pizza tea afterwards was a winner too.
Sarah EllisWhat a fabulous time, Emily gave the best instructions and advice. She had a great sense of humour and it made for a fun experience! We will definitely be back soon.
Debbie BinettiNever thought this was something I would enjoy doing but had a great time. The venue was easy to get to and the staff were friendly! Safety was taken very seriously and all precautions were taken to ensure everone had a good time. Would recommend this to anyone looking for team building event. Anyone and everyone can take part so its a good chance to... get the team together. Read More
Vince RuotoloHad a great time and got the hang of it pretty well by the end! Hannah our instructor was great and helpful with her her thowing tips! Definitely recommend a smaller group of 6-8 people for the 2 hours to make sure everyone gets a good amount of throws.
Josiah TurnbullIndia and Azzy were amazing at teaching us to axe throw!!! They both created such a friendly atmosphere that allowed the whole group to enjoy themselves! Definitely recommend coming (and getting them 👌)
Cody SHad a great time, perfect activity to do with friends. We had Ava as our host, she was really great with showing us the ropes. We were practically Viking novices by the time we finished.
KithonWent with a mate on Monday and had Harry show us the ropes. It was super fun! Very cathartic and the pizza was great! Had a good chat with Harry too! Will go again!
david newmanIndiana and Ava were awesome with our group, probably the best axe hosts in Australia! Thankyou so much our team from Isuzu Australia had an absolute ball. Highly recommend!
Brett StewartWhat a fun experience! We went during the day, so it wasn't busy, and we were given a safety briefing and personal training in the best ways to throw different axes. They have a wristband system for the participants that were partaking in alcohol (3 drink limit for sharp implements 😆). Recommend sneakers or boots, otherwise you are made to wear seriously NON-SEXY gumboots. Recommend!
Renee SWent there last night for a work get together. Had the best time. Was so much fun. Great location and Jamie was an awesome host helping with the banter along the way which made it an even better night. Will definitely be back again.
Christina BradfordWe had a great social club event here. Our group had a private lesson with Jamie. He was helpful with the safety protocols and gave some funny commentary and helpful hints after each throw. They were very responsible with alcohol service too. Also loved that we could buy medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. A fun night had by all.
Barbara O'BrienWe did axe throwing for my birthday and the team were absolute legends! We were given safety protocols and advice throughout the duration of our session. Lots of laughs and overall a fantastic vibe, felt so welcomed and would come visit again in a heartbeat! An excuse to improve on my skills! 💪
MicheWhat an awesome experience this was!! It really satisfied a primal urge to throw an axe. You can imagine your boss's head in the bullseye and you'll feel like a real viking. Besides, you never know when you'll need this skill in real life. 😉
Jamie and the crew were great with instructions and tips.
I recommend this to anyone!
David KaityNic was a fab teacher! We visited the space as a group of 5 and had a cracker time. The bar was excellent, and is surprising large with plenty of space. Nic and the team were friendly and the axe throwing was tonnes of fun. Will be back, and would highly recommend.
Kristen TettTook my nephew axe throwing and we had a great time. After the first 10 mins we wondered whether we’d enjoy it for a whole hour but the time flew past!! The guys running the place were really great. They helped us get started then left us to it. It’s a new business but I highly recommend it. Something different to do with your mates.
Belinda CullenWe were visiting Canberra and my son select the activity. I was concerned my wife and teenage daughter might not enjoy it. Definitely wrong about that. We all loved it and within about 10 minutes all were hitting the target.
We book a family pass, $99 for two adults and two teens, great value and a great experience.
Justin TrembathFirst time axe-throwing was so much fun! Demonstration was very thorough by our host. Luke was a great coach and made us the best gluten free pizza. Will definitely be going back!
Tanya MontagnerThanks Nick for the lessons and patience! Really sharp Axes and nice atmosphere. They have boots and disposable socks for free if you are using open shoes. First time doing it and we loved. Thanks Maniax
Lucas DantasWell, that was fun! We have been meaning to do this for ages and finally made it! You are required to register after reading the disclaimers etc and they ask you when booking to wear covered shoes. They do however supply gumboots if you came straight from the beach. You are given the run down on safety and a quick demo with tips on how... to throw and record scores if you're playing with friends. There is a bar onsite, but you are restricted to 3 drinks whilst throwing axes. There's also some 'dress ups' for after which was an absolute hoot with the horned helmets and cloaks. If you're looking for a fun time out, give it a go, you may surprise yourself with some latent skills and you may discover you have zero hand eye coordination much to the mirth of your mates.
**update** so we went back. It was even better than last time!!! We got a little one on one coaching, and instead of two ir so solid hits for our session, it was almost every second throw!
Extremely satisfying.
Check the new pics, I've uploaded a shot of the coach. He gives good tips. If you haven't gone yet, what are you waiting for?
There was a hens night while we were there as well as a family with two younger kids. Archery booths were set up for them and the absolute joy on their faces when they scored bullseye was brilliant. The arrows are plastic with a sucker on the end, no danger there. Read More
Lisa LisaSO MUCH FUN.
Highly recommend axe throwing.
What a great way to laugh, have fun, get some frustration out, hang with friends/family, show off some skills.
We will definitely be back.
Mikayla (hope that’s how it’s spelt) was EXTRAORDINARY. She clearly loves her job, and is very good at it. Mikayla was friendly and welcoming, cracked a few jokes to keep the introduction of axe throwing fun and engaging,... and all-round accommodating. Bless her.

Monique SimmonsSimply F.U.N. Though my kids don' t quite understand English, Nick, coach of the day, taught us through with demos and kept checking on the kids. It's definitely something cuz there were like ten customers at the same time. He's been patient N encouraging everyone. Thank you, Nick. And welcome those who still have doubt...Come become part of it.
施姵如Really fun. We had Nick as our guide. He was really great. We made up our own games point systems. Different games for each round. 1 hour wasn't enough so we bought some extra time. I had an amazing cocktail made by Ash at the bar. Would definitely come back again😊
Kara BroughtonToday Our head office team had an incredible time at an axe-throwing event, and it was an absolute blast! From the moment we arrived, the Luke and James made us feel welcome and provided thorough safety instructions. The atmosphere was energetic and fun, which really got everyone in the spirit of friendly competition.
Our instructor James was fantastic —engaging, patient, and full of tips that... helped even the beginners hit the target. By the end of the session, we were all cheering each other on and feeling accomplished with our newly discovered axe-throwing skills.
This event was a perfect way to bond with colleagues, unwind, and enjoy some healthy competition. We left feeling energized and closer as a team. Highly recommend for any group looking for a unique and exciting experience!! Read More

Tash RileyHad a fantastic time at Maniax today for my hubby’s birthday. Our first axe throwing experience was wonderful. The staff were super helpful and took time to explain and show us the ropes. Emma PutkunzFirst time axe throwing and Luke made it a great experience from start to finish. Great atmosphere and the pizza’s were amazing ( even the gluten free one). Perfect morning spent and we will be back..
Andrew JohnstoneOut of the ordinary, awesome and super fun! Came here for a date with my wife and what a blast of a time we had. Really fun learning how to throw an axe and quite tiring at the end but quite satisfying. The staff were very friendly and professional and dam they make it look easy to throw an axe. Would definitely come back to... try in a bigger group. Read More
Keith ChenWent there yesterday for my 30th 2.0 (didn’t get to celebrate last year) and it was the best experience and fun I’ve had in a long long time!
The staff were fantastic and welcoming, just overall an amazing experience. We will be back soon!
Binks GamingThis was a super experience! The gentleman (Jay/Jed?) was super friendly and helpful and took his time to check in and correct peoples throwing techniques. The place itself has a great feel and vibe to it! I attended a session on a late Sunday afternoon which was quieter, and worked out well. You do tend to get a litttttle over it about 45 minutes in... (and your arm starts to feel it). Would be great if there was a moving target to change things up. I also feel it’s priced okay for the length provided. Read More
Stan VeloutsosSo much fun! Plus a really good workout over an hour. We had great instructions and then just picked up the axe and threw and threw and threw.
Sandra PowellHad such an awesome time at Maniax! The hosts were both fantastic; nice, funny, and informative. They made axe throwing really approachable and fun. They were super supportive.
The space is great! It's a really comfortable place to hang out and has a great atmosphere, and though I didn't grab anything to eat or drink, it was nice to have the option avaliable.
Our group had a... great time and now I'm really keen to visit and have a practice by myself. Thanks for the awesome experience! ☺️ Read More

Just finished an epic night at MANIAX Newcastle doing the Viking Package with my work social group, and let me tell you—it was AWESOME! 🪓🔥 Everyone had an absolute blast! The vibe was amazing from start to finish. Our host was super charismatic, keeping everyone hyped and involved, even those who had never thrown an axe before! 😎
The staff were so friendly and made the... whole experience even better. The food? Fantastic! Perfect for fueling our Viking spirits after a couple of hours of intense axe-throwing competition! 🏆🍻
If you’re looking for something fun to do, whether it’s a big social event or just hanging out with a few mates, I’d 100% recommend MANIAX. We’ll definitely be back for more axe-slinging action! Thanks for an unforgettable night—can’t wait to do it all over again! 🙌

Penny WalkerMy partner and I attended yesterday for a date day. We weren't disappointed, our hostess (unfortunately we both forget her name because we're hopeless) was absolutely amazing. She definitely went above and beyond to make it such a fun experience! She is a credit to the team and we will be coming back again!
Haytytai BowThis place is fantastic. Awesome fun, well presented and the staff are amazing. They really take the time to give you some good pointers on how to do it and seem genuinely interested. Very cool looking facility too! We will be back.
Shane GoodwinI recently celebrated a friend's 21st birthday at Maniax Axe Throwing, and it was an unforgettable experience! Dylan was absolutely amazing, guiding us through the ins and outs of axe throwing with enthusiasm and expertise. The venue itself is fantastic—well-organized, clean, and filled with a lively atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, Dylan makes sure everyone has a great time. I... can't recommend Maniax Axe Throwing enough for a fun and unique outing. We had such a blast, and we'll definitely be back! Read More
Zoe VosWe had such a great time. The coach Brownie was so encouraging and made it even more fun for our family. My three boys (11-13) loved it and got very competitive! And then they enjoyed nearly another hour after our session playing the shuffleboard. A great afternoon!
Amber MoncrieffHad a great time at Maniax. Violet our instructor was bubbly, supportive and gave really good tips to help me get my axe in before she let us loose.
Premises were clean with options to purchase drinks and with their 2 for 1 offer on Mondays, you really can't go wrong by coming here for a quick chuck.
Zi Lin ChongIf i could rate the venue a 6 star or higher - I would!
Exceptional facility, amenities, aesthetic and of course the axe throwing experience itself 🪓
Staff were super helpful, friendly and knowledgable
The tutorial and rundown was perfect in it's length and educational purpose
Get a venue SOR, and I'd be a regular!
Lord Zalman ScanlonThis place is 5 out of 5 fun, axe throwing is something everyone should experience. They get you to sign a waiver before you start and the staff there are very friendly and go in dept through how to throw the axes and how to be safe with them, the different game technology is amazing your not just trying to hit a target you can... play different games that are projected onto the wooden boards with the axes. There’s obviously axe throwing, drinks, food and it’s a ton of fun!! Definitely recommend for the whole family! Read More
Liam HardmanHad a very fun date here with my partner! Was a bit nervous at first, but really got into it after a while. Victoria SHad a phenomenal experience tonight celebrating a birthday for one of the work boys. And our hostes Ollie, might’ve been a little green, got the vibe happening right from the get-go. Recommend both the venue and do yourself a favour and request Ollie as your host.
